Sophisticated Productions is proud to offer
2 NEW TITLE DIVISIONS

OUTSTANDING STUDENT CHOREOGRAPHY: Students who choreographed a routine whether performed by them or another student at the studio. Age Division will be 12 & under and 13 & up. Age will be determined by the dancers performing the routine. Top Winner in each division will receive $75 cash, $50 gift certificate towards Sophisticated Productions Performance Team and a beautiful Trophy. First and second runner up will receive a $50 gift certificate towards Sophisticated Productions Performance Team. There must be at least 5 entries in each age division or divisions will be combined. Entry Fee for Outstanding Choreography Title is $85 per entry.

DANCE 4 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP TITLE: This title is for dancers in High School who are preparing for their future in College. Dancers will be required to compete in grade levels according to their current grade in High School, 9th-12th grade. Proof of grade level must be submitted with application. Dancers will be required to compete one solo and must wear leotards & tights (no costumes allowed), and submit an essay about what dance has done for them over the years and what their future goals are. Essays must be submitted with entry form. In each grade level, one dancer will win a $500 cash scholarship to be used for a college of your choice. If there are less than five competitors in a grade level, grade levels will be combined. Entry Fee for Dance 4 College Scholarship Title is $85 - Solo and $50 - Essay.

Divisions:	Solo Sm. Group (4-8 dancers) Line / Production (17+ dancers)	Duet / Trio Lrg. Group (9-16 dancers)
Time Limits:	Solo, Duet / Trio up to 3:00 min. Sm. & Lrg. Group up to 4:00 min. Line & Production up to 8:00 min.
Age Divisions:	4-6       7-8       9-10       11-12       13-14 15-16    17-18    19-24    25 & Up

The average age will determine the age group for Duet / Trio, Groups and Line / Production. If average age ends in .5 or above, it will be rounded up to the next age group. Ages and birth dates must appear on entry form. Dance competitors will be responsible for proof of age, if necessary.

Overall Age Divisions:

4-8 Years Old, 9-12 Years Old, and 13 & up.

Entry Fees:	Please call the office for the current updated entry fees for the 2012 Dance Competition Season. ***If you received our 2012 Regional Brochure there was a typo: Small / Large Groups and Line / Production entries are based on per dancer not per routine.
Classification:	Novice: Less than 2 hours per week of dance class. Intermediate: Three to four hours per week of dance class. Advance I: Five to six hours per week of dance class. Advance II: Seven or more hours per week of dance class. Pre-Pro: Competitors who perform with a teacher, or a professional dancer. Professional: Dancers who make a salary, teachers, assistants or a professional dancer. Student Choreographed: Routines choreographed by the students.
Awards:	JUDICATED - Judges will score each competitor on five different categories: Choreography - 25 Points Technique - 25 Points Difficulty - 20 Points Stage Presence / Personality - 20 Points Costume, Hair & Makeup - 10 Points
For a TOTAL OF 100 POINTS from each judge. There will be three judges for a total of 300 POINTS, and one special awards judge at each dance competition.

Dancers who receive a Sophisticated Platinum Award will also win $25.00 CASH!

NEW! Studio Owners will receive critiques on a flash drive from our panel of Professional Qualified Judges.

If there are five or more entries in a category a category high score trophy will be awarded to the highest scoring routine in that category. The second and third highest scores will receive a certificate.

Solo and Duo / Trio entries will receive a beautiful trophy.

Small / Large Groups & Line / Production entries will receive a large trophy for the Studio Owner and Dancers will receive a beautiful customized dog tag!

Dancers can submit up to Three solos per dance competition.

Solo Title

The Highest Scoring Soloist in each division will receive the title for that age division. Solo titlest will receive the Title, Trophy, a Beautiful Crown, Sophisticated Productions Regional Winner Jacket and $25.00 Cash! First Runner-Ups will receive a Trophy. There is no additional fee for solo titlest, every solo entry is automatically qualified. Students who compete in up to Three solos are only eligible to receive one Title or 1st Runner-Up award. There MUST be a minimum of five soloists in an age division for the Title and Cash Award to be awarded in the Age Division.

Duo / Trio, Small / Large Group and Line / Production Age Division Titlest

In every age division the highest scoring Duo / Trio, Small / Large Group and Line / Production will receive the Title, Trophy and $25 Cash Award for that age division. There must be a minimum of five Duo / Trio, Small / Large Group and Line / Production entries in each age division for the title and Cash Award to be awarded in that age division.

Overall Title

All overall high scores for Solos, Duo / Trio, Small / Large Groups and Line / Production entries for 4-8 years old, 9-12 years old, and 13 & over will receive the overall title for that regional dance competition, a large Trophy and Cash Award. In addition Overall Solo Titlist will receive a Beautiful Crown and Sophisticated Productions Regional Winner Jacket. For all overall titles there will be no first runner up, only the winner. This will give the first runner up the opportunity to hold the title for their age division.

Overall Regional Cash Awards

Solo $75.00 Small / Large Group $125.00

Duo / Trio $75.00 Line / Production $125.00

There must be at least five Line / Production entries in 4-8 years old, 9-12 years old and 13 & over for the Cash prize to be awarded for overall titles. Less than five in each Overall category all Line / Productions will be combined for the overall cash award.
