Sophisticated Productions Dance Competitions
Rules & Regulations

- Sophisticated Productions Dance Competitions will disqualify any routines with explicit moves or that are not choreographed age appropriately, any routines with inappropriate lyrics or age inappropriate costumes.
NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE!!! - Once schedules are sent out NO routines will be moved unless it is due to a Religious commitment or School commitment. Studios are required to submit proof of these commitments to Sophisticated Productions.
- All studios are required to submit parent signature forms completely filled out. You may make a master sheet listing all your dancers with parent signatures. If Sophisticated Productions Dance Competitions does not receive parent signatures forms, dancers will not be allowed to compete.
- Sophisticated Productions Dance Competitions are all scheduled as three day events. If we are able to hold an event all on one day we will hold the dance competition on Saturday of that weekend unless we notify you otherwise. However, if the Dance Competition is a three day event we will schedule 13 & up Solos on Friday evening. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
- Dancers who receive a title in the 2011 season cannot compete with that same routine in the 2012 season. They must compete with a new routine.
- Sophisticated Productions will ONLY ACCEPT MONEY ORDERS OR CERTIFIED BANK CHECKS payable to Sophisticated Productions.
- The top three Dance Studios with the most entries at each regional Dance Competition will receive a $250 Gift Certificate towards Sophisticated Productions National Dance Competition in July 2012.
- Professional or pre-pro entries and entries that are 25 years and older are not eligible for titles or overall high scores.
- Sophisticated Productions is not responsible for music, costumes, shoes, make-up, personal belongings, etc., that are lost, stolen, or left behind.
- Competitors must show good sportsmanship or your entry will be disqualified.
- Sophisticated Productions has the right to use all title winners names and Dance Studio information in upcoming brochures and promotional advertisements.
- Age is determined by your current age at the regional Dance Competition.
- Props may be used but it is the responsibility of the Studio Owner or Parents of the studio to set up and remove them from the stage. Anything considered dangerous will not be allowed.
- It is the studio owner's responsibility to make sure every CD is working properly or the number will be disqualified. (Please bring an extra CD of the routines to avoid this problem.)
- No Video Taping or Cameras of any type will be allowed in the auditorium or your routines will be disqualified.
- Sophisticated Productions programs will be sold at the door for $7.00.
- Any late entries for the competition will be charged a $5.00 late fee per number. (Please see the last page for deadline dates.)
- Sophisticated Productions will only accept faxed entries if payment is received within two days of receiving the fax. If payment is not received within two days your entries will be deleted.
- Entry fees will not be refunded after 2 weeks prior to the event.
- Competitors must arrive 30 min. before going on stage.
- All studios will be notified approximately one week before the competition with times and schedules.
